The visit of Garvan Institute of Medical Research, Australia delegation to Hanoi University of Pharmacy.
Receiving the invitation of the Hanoi University of Pharmacy, in the morning of 11th October2017, Prof. Nguyen Van Tuan, Garvan Institute of Medical Research, Australia paid a working visit to our university.
Attending the meeting, for HUP side, there were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh-Responsible and Executive Vice Rector together with MA. Dinh Thi Hien Van, Head of International Relations Dep., Dr. Do Xuan Thang, Deputy Head, Responsible of Department of chemical & equipment supply, Assoc. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Huong, Deputy Head, Dep. of Management & Pharmacoeconomics, Assoc. Prof.Dr. Nguyen Thị Lap, Asso.Prof. Dr. Phung Thanh Huong, Deputy Head of Biochemistry Dep.,Dr. Pham Thi Thuy Van, Deputy Head of Clinical Pharmacy Dep. MSc Hanh Van, lecturer of Clinical Dep. and MSc. Nguyen Thi Linh Ha, specialist of Inter’l Relations Dep.
Prof. Nguyen Van Tuan is a scientist specializing on epidemiology and osteoporosis. He is a principal investigator of Garvan Institute of Medical Research, Australia. There are 6 departments in this institute including departments of bone, neurology, cancer, endocrine, basic science research. The Institute seperated from hospital but now has become a part of New South Wales University which is among top 8 universities of Australia. The Garvan Institute of Medical Research is one of the leadingcenters in Australia in educating medical students. There is a Vietnam - Australia laboratory located in the Institute. At the meeting, Professor Nguyen Van Tuan shared and updated information related to the scientific researches of the Garvan Institute of Medical Research, Australia in the current period and research trends in the coming time. For HUP side, participants also introduced, listened to, and shared issues related to researches. Both sides exchanged and discussed to find the common approachesfor cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to organize a basic training course on scientific research methodology consisting of topics related to scientific research, research models, methods of collecting and analyzing data in the coming time. In addition, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, on behalf of HUP, also invited Prof. Nguyen Van Tuan to become honor professor of Hanoi University of Pharmacy.
