Science and Technology Conference of Ha Noi University of Science and Technology Conference in celebration of 55th anniversary of the construction and development & 102 - year tradition of pharmacists training(1914-2016)
On the 11th of November 2016, Ha Noi University of Pharmacy organized the Science and Technology Conference on the occasion of 55th anniversary of the construction and development (1961-2016) & 102-year tradition of pharmacist training (1914 - 2016).
Attending the conference, there were about 200 participants, including former lecturers and representatives of some colleges/universities which have pharmacist training in the northern part of Vietnam. For HUP, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dang Hoa, Secretary of Party Committee - Rector; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee - Vice Rector; Heads of departments and units, professors, associate professors, lecturers, and graduate students, students of the university.
The conference started at 8.30 am on the 11th of November 2016 with opening speech by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dang Hoa, Secretary of Party Committee -Rector. After that, on behalf of Rectors’ Board, Prof. Nguyen Thanh Binh reported the scientific research activities of Ha Noi University of Pharmacy for the period 2011 - 2016. The program of conference divided into 02 sessions.
In the morning, 6 reports at national level which representing for the main research direction of HUP during the period 2011-2016 were reported, exchange and discussed between main researchers and participants.These reports included as:
1.“Liposome, phytosome - Applications to improve the bioavailability and site-specific drug delivery" reported by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Minh Hue – Head of Department of Pharmaceutics.
2.Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hai Nam, Head of Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry with “Synthesis and bioevaluation of heterocycle-based hydroxamic acids as histone deacetylase inhibitors and antitumor agents”
3.“Study on Cultivation and Development of Coix lachryma-jobi L. in Viet Nam” reported by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van On, Head of Department of Botany.
4.Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Anh, Deputy Head of The National Drug Information and Adverse Drug Reactions Monitoring Centre with “Applied research in Pharmacovigilance and Drug information to improve rational and safe use of medicines” .
5.“Screening Vietnamese medicinal plants for treating Gout through inhibition of xanthine oxidase pathway” reported by Dr. Nguyen Thuy Duong-Vice Head of Pharmacodynamic.
6.Dr. NguyenThi Phuong Nhung- Lecturer of Department of Management and Pharmacoeconomics with "Application of logistic regression to identify factors associated with ARV adherence among HIV/AIDS smokers".

In the afternoon, there were 30 reports which were results of doctoral theses of PhD students divided into 5 sessions/ expertises: Pharmaceutical Technology and Pharmaceutics;
Pharmaceutical Chemistry; Drug Quality Control and Toxicology; Management and Pharmacoeconomics-Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy; Pharmacognosy and Traditional Pharmacy.
