Students from China Medical University, Taiwan (China) participate in the 2025 Summer Student Exchange Program

Under the cooperation agreement signed between the two universities, from June 23 to July 25, 2025, a delegation of students from China Medical University (CMU), Taiwan (China), led by Prof. Hung Yi Chen, participated in the student exchange program at Hanoi University of Pharmacy (HUP). This annual activity organized by HUP aims to promote integration, academic exchange, and cultural interaction between Vietnamese students and their international peers from across the region and the world.

The program offered a harmonious combination of theoretical learning, practical application, and cultural experiences. The students were introduced to the learning environment at HUP, gained an overview of the pharmaceutical education system in Vietnam, and toured the university campus.

In addition to classroom lessons, the students visited various practical training facilities affiliated with HUP, such as Huu Nghi Hospital and Saint Paul Hospital. They also explored community pharmacies, visited pharmaceutical companies such as Traphaco and Medzavi, and engaged with local communities involved in the conservation of medicinal plants. Topics such as traditional Vietnamese medicine, new drug formulation, and modern drug research and development were integrated into the program, providing international students with deeper insight into the intersection of modern pharmaceutical science and traditional medicine in Vietnam.

The program concluded with an impressive closing ceremony, featuring a culinary and cultural exchange between HUP students and international participants. The atmosphere became lively and festive as students experienced making and frying spring rolls, and enjoyed traditional Vietnamese dishes such as bún chả and giò lụa. These moments left a lasting impression on the international students, showcasing a friendly, hospitable, and culturally rich Vietnam.

This program stands as a srong reflection to HUP’s ongoing efforts in internationalizing education, improving training quality, connecting academic theory with real-world practice, and promoting cultural exchange — a sustainable and promising direction in the age of globalization.

Professor Hung Yi Chen expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the HUP leadership for their support, to the lecturers who directly taught and guided the students, and especially to the Department of Science, Technology and Development Cooperation (International Cooperation Unit) for their enthusiastic and dedicated coordination, which contributed significantly to the success of the 2025 student exchange program.
