Meeting to celebrate Vietnamese Teachers’ Day
On November 19, 2013, Hanoi University of Pharmacy held a solemn meeting to celebrate the 31st anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20, 1982 – November 20, 2013). Attending the meeting were the members from the Party Committee, the Directorate Board, representatives of the Trade Union, the Youth Union, the Student’s Association, heads/deputy heads of departments, divisions, centers, and lecturers as well as the officers and students of HUP.
On behalf of HUP leaders, Asso.Prof., Dr Nguyen Thanh Binh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee read a congratulation letter on Vietnamese Teachers’ Day written by Asso. Prof., Dr Nguyen Thi Kim Tien, Minister of Health to the teachers and officials working in the health training facilities. In his speech at the meeting ceremony, Asso. Prof Nguyen Dang Hoa, Secretary of Party Committee - Rector emphasized: Vietnamese people have the tradition of "Venerating a teacher and respecting his moral”. Teaching is honored as the noblest among the noble professions. Fora long time, on Tet holidays, our forefather said: "1st Day of a Lunar New Year to visit the father, 2nd Day of a Lunar New year to visit the mother,3th Day of a Lunar New year to visit the teachers" ... President Ho Chi Minh said: "The good teacher – who well implements his duties of a teacher - is the most glorious person. Although their names are not written in the newspapers, they are not rewarded medals, but the best teachers are the nameless heroes. It is a glorious thing”. He also taught us: "Cultivation of the soil serves ten years' interest, cultivation of the mind serves 100 years' interest". Implementing Uncle Ho 's teaching, over 52 years, Hanoi University of Pharmacy, which has been training tens of thousands of qualified pharmacists, has successfully completed the political missions and effectively contributed to the people 's health care that was highly appreciated, acknowledged by the Party and State and rewarded such as: the Second class Independence Medal, the Title of "Labor Hero Unit" in the renovation period and many other honourable names. These achievements are the contribution of many generations of lecturers, staffs, students of the school. The lecturers of Hanoi University of Pharmacy are always the shining examples on noble virtue and ethics of Teachers in the minds of many HUP students. Striving to successfully perform the tasks for the academic year 2013 – 2014, the first year of implementing the 8th Resolution of the Party Central Committee (term XI) on " Radical and comprehensive innovation in education and training to meet the requirements of industrialization and modernization in market economy under the socialist orientation and international integration"; in response to the patriotic emulation movement of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Training, the school has officially launched the movement "Study and follow up Ho Chi Minh’s moral example, implement and successfully complete the tasks for the academic year 2013 – 2014" and called all the lecturers, officers, trainees, students to continue the tradition of Labor Hero Unit, eagerly emulate, strive to gain the highest achievement in each of their working positions. Responding to the movement launched by the university, the representatives from the departments, units, Trade Union, Youth Union and Students' Association signed a covenant to successfully implement the proposed content of emulation. Also on this event, HUP leaders gifted flowers to congratulate Asso.Prof., Dr Nguyen Thanh Binh who has just been recognized as Professor by the State Council; Lecturers Nguyen Ngoc Chien and Nguyen Tuong Vy who have been recognized as Associate Professors. The university also announced and awarded the rewarding decisions for the departments and individuals who have made outstanding achievements in the previous academic year. Asso.Prof. Thai Nguyen Hung Thu - Vice Rector, authorized by Ministry of Health awarding the Certificate of Merit for 21 department receiving the title of "Excellent Labor Department” in the academic year 2011 – 2012.
