Conferment Ceremony of Honorary Professor Title upon Prof. Chul Soon Yong, Yeungnam University, Korea

​In the afternoon of 20th August, 2021, the conferment ceremony of "Honorary Professor Title " to Prof. Chul Soon Yong, Former Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Yeungnam University (YU), Korea, Director ofPost Graduate Department of Clinical Pharmacy; Former President ofKorean Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology, Former President of Asian Federation of Pharmaceutical Sciences (AFPS), Former Chair of Organizing Committee for AFPS Conference 2013, was solemnly held online between Hanoi University of Pharmacy, Vietnam and Yeungnam University, Korea.​

​Prof. Chul Soon Yong is one of the leading experts in pharmaceutics and drug development. He has published 369 international articles, 101 domestic articles, composed many books, had 39 patents in the country, guided 75 masters and 44 doctoral students and awarded and honored many prestigious awards.

Since 2009, Prof. Chul Soon Yong has made contributions and provided technical support to Hanoi University of Pharmacy: (i) guided two Vietnamese masters and six Vietnamese doctoral students in Korea; (ii) coordinated in research implementation and co-published articles in prestigious journals (17 articles); (iii) Received students, trainees and lecturers of the HUP to attend short-term training, seminars and scientific conferences in Korea; (iv) Be a technical consultant for the project “Developing Hanoi University of Pharmacy to meet the regional standard” from Korean concessional loans.

Conferment Ceremony of Honorary Professor Title was held with the desire to honor his contribution to the cause of training and scientific research for Hanoi University of Pharmacy.
Attending the online ceremony, at Yeungnam University, there was Prof. Chul Soon Yong and his colleagues, Vietnamese students, lecturers who have been guided by him to carry out master or doctoral theses at Yeungnam University in Korea during the past 12 years. At Hanoi University of Pharmacy, there was the presence of Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Secretary of the Party Committee, President of University Council Committee; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hai Nam, Rector of Hanoi University of Pharmacy, many leaders and former leaders, lecturers and students.

​Speaking at the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hai Nam - Rector of Hanoi University of Pharmacy highly appreciated his contributions and gave the best wishes to Prof. Chul Soon Yong. “Over the last 12 years, Prof. Yong has been a companion of Hanoi University of Pharmacy and has inspired lecturers, researchers and students.

On behalf of the University, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Secretary of the Party Committee, President of University Council Committee awarded the title of "Honorary Professor" to Prof. Chul Soon Yong, and suggested that the Professor continue to support Hanoi University of Pharmacy in building, developing, fostering and maintaining the University's brand.​
