Celebration of 55 years of construction and development & 102 - year tradition of pharmacists training

In the morning of 12th November 2016, in the campus of 13 – 15 Le Thanh Tong Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi, Hanoi University of Pharmacy solemly held the Celebration of 102 – year tradition of pharmacists training, 55 years of construction and development. Attending at the Ceremony are Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Cuong – Deputy Minister of Health, Mr. Nguyen Huu Thanh – Vice Chairman of Bac Ninh Province; representatives of the departments under the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Training and the central agencies and localities; representatives of health institutions, universities, colleges, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, research institutions; and generations of leaders, faculty, students, and alumni. ​​​

​Speaking at the Ceremony, on behalf of Leaders of Hanoi University of Pharmacy, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dang Hoa, Secretary of the Party – Rector reviewed tradition of 102 years of pharmacists training (1914 – 2016) and a journey of 55 years construction and development (1961 – 2016). Hanoi University of Pharmacy extolled its pioneering role in training highly qualified pharmacists for our country with 14,200 university pharmacists, 2,685 1st and 2nd level specialized pharmacists, 1,083 masters in pharmacy and 131 doctors of philosophy in pharmacy serving for the socio-economic development, industrialization and modernization of the country, contributing significantly to the improvement of the quality of production and sufficiently supply drugs for disease prevention, treatment and enhance the efficiency of health care for people of the health sector. The University has linked closely scientific technology with training, step by step become one of the leading centers of the country for the training - research quality and application of scientific and technical progress into manufacturing. International cooperation of the University has been increasingly expanded, diversified developed and achieved practical results, partly contributing to improve the reputation and brand of the University in the Region and in the World. Staff and faculty of the University have grown in both quantity and quality. The infrastructure and equipment of the University have been modernized, which helps improve positively the working, teaching and learning environment of staff, faculty and students. The University has actively and positively participated in the activities towards the community and the basis health system: contributing to the conservation of medicinal plants, planning medicinal region, drug information consulting, adverse drug effects report and rational drug use ... Over 102 traditional years of pharmacists training, 55 years of construction and development, Hanoi University of Pharmacy has been honorably awarded many honors by the State: The “Labor Hero in the Innovation” Title, The 2nd and 3rd class Independence Orders, The 1st, 2nd and 3rd class Labor Orders. The political institutions and lecturers and staff of the University have also been awarded with many other Honors. On this occasion, the Rector also expressed his sincerest thanks to the Leaders of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Party committees of the universities and colleges in Hanoi, the departments of Health, Education & Training , the central agencies, localities and health facilities, universities, colleges, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, research institutions who have created favorable conditions for the University to become what it looked like today. Mr. Rector also conveyed his regards to all the generation of leaders, lecturers, staffs, students and alumni of the University who committed themselves with the University to overcome the difficulties and dedicated themselves to the development of the brand of Ha Noi University of Pharmacy.

Speaking at the Ceremony, on behalf of the Ministry of Health, Prof. Le Quang Cuong, Deputy Minister of Health warmly congratulated and praised the achievements that generations of lecturers and students of Ha Noi University of Pharmacy won over 55 years and suggested that the University should focus on the central tasks: Continuing to implement “basic and comprehensive innovation in education and training to meet the requirements of industrialization and modernization in conditions of socialist-oriented market economy and international integration” according to Resolution No. 29 of The Party Central Committee XI. The University needed to further promote a sense of responsibility, initiation, dynamism and promote intelligence and talent of leaders, lecturers, students…  autonomy, self responsible, motivation and conditions for rapid and sustainable development; continued innovation training programs based on competency standards and meet the needs of educational integration, innovative training organizations ...; promote scientific and technological activities and international cooperation in training and scientific research; focus effectively deploy "development planning Ha Noi University of Pharmacy period 2010 - 2020, Vision 2030" has been leader of the Ministry of Health for approval. Initiative to face and overcome the challenges of implementing autonomy and university stratification. He believes that the traditional 55 years of development and growth, Ha Noi University of Pharmacy will be one of the universities at the forefront of innovation and education is the key positions in the national point of digging pharmaceutical human creation, contributing more to economic growth - the country's society. Maintaining the tradition of solidarity, cooperation, promote the resources to pioneer spirit, initiative and creativity to make and successfully completed the assigned political tasks, to contribute effectively to the overall success of Health sector of the country. The University should take the right of autonomy and self-responsibility as a motivation and condition for fast and sustainable development. Hanoi University of Pharmacy needs to continuously reform its training program based on competency standards to meet the needs of educational integration. The University should also need to promote scientific and technological activities and international cooperation in training and scientific research; focus on deploying effectively "Master Plan of Ha Noi University of Pharmacy period 2010 - 2020, Vision 2030" approved by Minister of Health. The Deputy Minister also believed that with the journey of 55 year construction and development, Hanoi University of Pharmacy would take the lead in education innovation and become a national key specialized university in pharmacist training, contributing more and more to the socio-economic development of our country.

Vu Thi Thuan – alumni – Chairman of Traphaco JSC and Student Hoang Trung Kien – Chairman of Student Association on behalf of former teachers, generations of students in the past and at present shared their feeling, joy, pride towards the growth of the University and their willingness to continue to contribute their brain and strength along with leaders, staffs and faculty of the university to maintain the training quality of the University and make Hanoi University of Pharmacy grow more and more.
